A Lecture by Gary Kamemoto

Item #10001
The Museum Reinhard Ernst is the first museum by Pritzker Prize winner Fumihiko Maki in Europe, and also the last that the Japanese architect himself designed on site. Maki did not live to see the completion of the new art museum: In the summer of 2024, he died at the age of 95 shortly before the opening of the mre. While he was still alive, Maki appointed his confidant, Gary Kamemoto, as his successor, ‘Principal of Maki and Associates’.

In keeping with the exhibition title, Gary Kamemoto will speak about the philosophy of Fumihiko Maki. In his lecture, he will also discuss architectural features and the integration of the mre into Wiesbaden's historic city centre.

The lecture will be held in English.
