A Lecture by Lise Motherwell

Item #10002-3
As part of the exhibition Helen Frankenthaler: Move and Make, Lise Motherwell, the artist's stepdaughter and Chair of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, will give a lecture at the Museum Reinhard Ernst on 28 September 2025 at 4 pm

Helen Frankenthaler: At Home and In the Studio

Artist Helen Frankenthaler took risks throughout her career.  She explored, experimented, shifted gears and maintained a playful attitude as she created work that remains as fresh today as the day it was painted. Lise Motherwell discusses how Helen’s curiosity and determination enabled her to discover new methods and materials in her art and allowed her to shift into new roles in her life. Through interviews, stories, memories, and images, Motherwell paints Helen as the multi-dimensional figure she was both at home and in the studio.

The lecture will be held in English.
